EDC 3-Year Development Roadmap

YEAR 1 — Foundation Year (2026)

Elite-Blended Competition Model

In Year 1, athletes will participate in the EDC alongside their existing DP and Elite schedules, allowing gyms to integrate the circuit gradually and experience the format.

Year 1 Competition Goals

  • Introduce the EDC meet structure
  • Establish Optional + Compulsory session format
  • Build national awareness
  • Train judges in series operations
  • Create baseline point standings
  • Develop consistent meet flow across all Series 1 events

Athlete Experience in Year 1

Athletes:

  • Continue training for their normal DP/Elite season
  • Compete in EDC meets as elite-only developmental competitions
  • Perform both Elite Optional and Elite Compulsory routines
  • Earn points toward Series 1 rankings

Summary:
Year 1 is about experience, exposure, and learning the rhythm of an elite-only season.

YEAR 2 — Opt-In Elite Circuit Pathway (2027)

Athletes May Treat EDC as Their Primary Competitive Season

In Year 2, athletes and gyms may choose to reduce or eliminate DP competitions and instead use the EDC as their main elite-development season.

Year 2 Enhancements

  • Expanded number of Series events
  • Refined points model
  • Greater judging consistency
  • Series Finals introduced
  • Early recognition programs for athletes & gyms
  • Formal resources for coaches and clubs
  • Stronger national rankings

Athlete Experience in Year 2

Athletes may:

  • Opt out of DP and compete EDC-only
  • Use EDC meets to prepare for USAG Elite qualifiers
  • Build depth, consistency, and confidence before American Classic

Summary:
Year 2 becomes a true developmental pathway — not an add-on.

YEAR 3 — International Expansion + Elite Division Growth (2028)

Global Competitive Opportunities for Young Elites

By Year 3, the EDC begins welcoming international youth elite athletes and fosters a broader competitive environment.

Year 3 Growth Plans

  • International athlete invitations
  • FIG brevet-expanded judging panels
  • Multi-country Series Finals
  • Junior Elite & Senior Exhibition divisions
  • Partnership opportunities with federations
  • Full-season rankings with international integration

Why This Matters

This opens doors for U.S. athletes and coaches to experience the diversity and style of international competition before they reach the senior elite stage.

Summary:
Year 3 positions the EDC as the first international youth elite developmental circuit in the United States.
